Book Report

Buffalo West Wing by Julie Hyzy

This book is a mystery book, and a main character, Olivia Paras will solve the situation. Olivia is an executive chef of White House. She has two assistants chef, Buckie and Cyan, and Marcel is pastry chef.

New president was elected after she had become an executive chef. She was sad to know that her loved family will leave the White House, but Olivia and her team were also ready to meet new family and new challenge.

On an Inauguration day, Olivia finds a box of chicken wings at the kitchen addressed to the First Kids. However according to the safety protocol Olivia refuses to serve them. Against her wish, the chicken wings were eaten by butlers and housekeepers, and they were lashed to hospital.

Secret service decided to hide the fact that the food was poisoned to First Family, so Olivia lost the trust to be their chef. Later, First Lady hired a new cook, Virgil Ballantire for her family. Virgil wasn’t happy that he was not an executive chef, so he tried to take over Olivia and never let her cook.

One day, Olivia and newly added secret service, Josh were kidnapped and find out the terrorists’ target were to poison First Kids to make them hospitalized to be the hostages against president. They wanted to release the imprisoned terrorist. With the bravery of Olivia, two were able to run away.

First Restaurant Report that I forgot to turn in.

On the street of Daikanyama, where the Egypt and Denmark Embassy are located, Aloha Table Daikanyama Forest is open for business. It is only a three minutes walk from Daikanyama Station, so you will locate it easily. If you have a hard time finding this restaurant, it is next door to Tsutaya (蔦屋), so it is piece of cake to locate it. This restaurant has four types of seats and they are counter, table, sofa, and terrace seats, so you can choose your favorite way to comfort yourself. However, sofa seat is in popular need, so you often cannot sit there.

This restaurant serves a Hawaiian food as the name “Aloha” says, and they have wide variety of food. Before going to this place, all I knew about the Hawaiian food was loco moco, so it was astonishing to know the varieties of Hawaiian food.

I have ordered the Garlic Shrimp (¥880) and Taro Bowl (¥900). As you can see from the prices, they are not that high. Although, there isn’t much in quantity, so you will not feel satisfied. However, the taste of the food is just great. For Taro Bowl, the combination of rice, sautéed minced chicken, and fried egg were good and delicious. Garlic Shrimp, too, was nicely flavored with garlic and spices, and it would be amazing appetizer for liquor.

If you are interested, Aloha Table Daikanyama Forest is open both on lunch and dinner time, so feel free to have a visit to a quiet atmosphere Hawaiian restaurant. You also can make a reservation on website.

Reflections on field trip

Overall it was amaizing to be spending time with the newly met classmates at Yoyogi Park. However it was raining and was bit cold to go on a picnic. I was surprised and amaized with the food, everyone have brought, and I regreted to not bring something more gorgeous.

I wish I could've stayed more longer at Mr. Dias' house. In the near future we want to visit there again and master juggling.
